
Ram Resources holds two exploration licenses E45/2726 and E45/2727 which are located within close proximity to Newcrest Limited’s Telfer Gold Mine which is located about 400 km east-southeast of Port Hedland and some 1300 km by air from Perth.
Newcrest’s Telfer mine is reported to contain reserves of approximately 13.2 million ounces Au and 510 kt of contained Cu (Newcrest Mining Limited : Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve Statement dated 30 June 2010).
The area is characterized by hot (25-plus 40oC) summers with seasonal cyclones and cooler winters (5-25oC). The area features low relief hills and sandstone ridges and long (10-40 km) SE trending sand dunes. The area is part of the Great Sandy Desert and vegetation on the sand plains is typically spinifex, with wattle, tea trees, saltbush and other vegetation also present.
